Hop for HOPS 5K
Sunday, June 8, 2014

There's really no other way to say it... Wow.
What an incredible day. Thank you to everyone who came out for our 1st annual Hop for HOPS 5K/1K. Whether you were running the race, cheering on friends and family, or part of the small army of volunteers, this day was a great reminder of what makes our town so special.

The children of Halifax are so fortunate to have so many people who truly care about them. Our mission still has some way to go... but thanks to all your steps we are now one HUGE step closer to giving our kids the playground they truly deserve.

Halifax Massachusetts you really are a great place to live!

Halifax in Lights Lemonade Stand
Saturday, June 28, 2014

Friends of HOPS would like to thank everyone for making our lemonade stand such a great success yesterday at Halifax in Lights. We all still smell like citrus!

A couple thank you notes:
First a huge shout out to Halifax Eagle Scout Ryan Kelly who raised money for both his Eagle Scout project - new giant benches at the playground - and the HOPS playground itself. If you've never met him trust us... he's an impressive young man. Also a FANTASTIC job by the Halifax in Lights committee. A day like that takes a TON of planning and fundraising efforts and the fireworks committee hit a home run. This town is so lucky to have them!

Even more reasons why its great to live in Halifax!

HALIFAX DOES IT AGAIN!

Thanks to a large (and incredibly generous) crowd last night the Chops for HOPS raised a staggering $3,300 for the playground in just under 3 hours!

UNBELIEVABLE!

Those who were there will tell you it really was a blast. And for those who couldn't make it don't worry... we'll be doing another one soon.

A Truly Touching Turnout for Touch a Truck!

Once again Halifax comes through with a great show of support for their kids.

We're pleased to report Sunday's Touch a Truck for HOPS raised roughly $3,200 for the playground!

A huge shout out to Walmart and the Rockland/Hanson Rotary for their help in cosponsoring the event. Not to mention all the companies and town departments that donated everything from jumpies to food to vehicles.

It really was a great day for a great cause!

Cow Plop indeed!
Congratulations also to our big plop winners:
1st Prize: Joe MacDonald of Abington
2nd Prize: 4-year-old Dylan O'Brien of Halifax

A HUGE thank you to Rockland Trust for sponsoring the event. Also to Walmart, Stop & Shop, Monponsett Trading Company, John the Barber's, Cinderella Nails, A Fork in the Road and Lou Lou's Cafe for all donating gift certificates. Bella's for the pizza donation. Terri Carman, the Farming Association, and Hanson Grain for lending us their animals for the day. Fun Faces with a Twist for the face painting.
